Frequently Asked Questions
What are Open Graph tags?
Open Graph (OG) tags are HTML meta tags that control how a URL is displayed when shared on social media. They include og:title, og:description, og:image, and og:url.
Why does my URL show a different preview on different platforms?
Each platform caches OG data separately. Twitter has its own twitter:card tags. LinkedIn caches previews aggressively. Use each platform's debug tool (Twitter Card Validator, LinkedIn Post Inspector) to clear caches.
What size should my og:image be?
1200×630 pixels is the recommended size for most platforms. Use a JPG or PNG under 1MB. Always include an explicit og:image tag — platforms show a blank or random image if it's missing.
Why can't I preview some URLs?
Some sites block metadata requests from external services. Sites with heavy login walls or bot-blocking may not return OG data to preview APIs.
